The UN officially declared 2026 to be International Volunteer Year, so there has never been a better time for you to roll up your sleeves and contribute to a cause close to your heart. And to help you do just that, we’ve launched a brand-new digital offering.
The new VCEL website has been carefully designed to be more inclusive and accessible, reflecting our commitment to serve and represent all communities across the region.
From volunteering vacancies, workshops and training sessions for interested individuals, to funding updates for social enterprises and comprehensive resources for third sector organisations, we hope our new website will be used as a springboard for those looking to create positive change within our community.
As part of these improvements, we’ve also moved to our new web address: www.vcel.org.uk. If you’ve previously visited us using our old website address, don’t worry — you’ll be redirected automatically. Our email addresses will also be moving to the new @vcel.org.uk domain in the near future, and we’ll share further information about this transition soon.
Our new website is just one aspect of the wider changes recently undertaken here at VCEL, with an updated brand identity and fresh new faces joining the team. We hope you’ll see these updates as a reflection of our commitment to listen, respond and adapt so we can continue to meet East Lothian’s ever-evolving needs.
That’s because VCEL is so much more than a volunteer centre. As a Third Sector Interface, we provide support, advice and opportunities for organisations, social enterprises, individuals and volunteers across the region. We hope our new online offering will enable more people to access this help and, in turn, strengthen our local community.
